A damaged tire will cause your car to pull or jerk to a side when driving. Look for damage. If you do not see any, run your hand over the entire tire surface front and back. You should be able to feel damage. If the shoe is worn and the pads are worn, it will grip the rotor and cause the care to jerk to the right or left. If they are worn, replace immediately. If the car is jerking while shifting gears, there might be two problems. First, the transmission fluid might be low. If it is low, add the recommended fluid to the proper level. If the fluid is not low and it is still jerking, the problem could be more serious and require a professional diagnostic test to examine the transmission.

The jerks while driving are a common symptom that something is wrong with the car. There can be a number of reasons for this. The most usual issue which causes the car to jerk when you start or accelerate it is loose spark plugs. You might consider replacing them. Some other causes are:

    1. Water in your fuel tank.

    2. Clogged fuel pipes.

    3. Dirt or alien particles in the transmission system.

    4. Low level of transmission fluids.

If you cannot make out the problem by yourself, take your car to a garage. Do not ignore the trouble as it can have a negative effect on the performance of your engine.

    Getting Jerked Off While Driving

Water in your gas tank. I had the same problem but didn't realize what it was until a hole rusted out in the bottom of my gas tank.. The water is not quite to the level of the fuel pickup. When you start, stop or go up a hill the water level reaches the pickup and the motor stutters or stops. When the motor stops the water level evens out and the motor starts right up.

Somehow you have to drain the water out. Adding alcohol fuel dries will not do the trick.

Somewhere, somehow you bought gas with water in it. I once bought six gallons of water at a gas station pump for my outboard. Cost me almost $200. to repair it. No point going back to the station They would deny and claim I got it elsewhere.

check your transmission fluid level. I had a similar problem that was fixed by ATF fluid, however it turned out i had a bad leak anyway! But definately sounds like transmission problem - it is "slipping" - engine revs but car does not respond or is delayed in response correct?
