You should always test any component that is shown as suspect by a code reader or scanner.

It's not at all uncommon to have false codes appear that are generated by other issues.

    See links for test procedures.

How many camshaft sensors are there? If it's a 6 cylinder motor you probably have one on each cylinder head. I've also had many vehicles that have had bad crankshaft sensors even though the code was for the camshaft sensor. Pull out your oscilloscope and compare the wave forms to a known good pattern. There's also a chance that the timing may have jumped and a cam is out of time throwing the code. In over your ability to diagnose this yet? Time for a master mechanic!!

You should find the problem before changing parts. you have the same problem as before you changed the sensor. Big waste of time and $$. The answers (as usual) are of no use as none are correct. Guessing don't get it.

PO340 code says CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION nothing about changing the sensor.

Never change ANY part 'till you KNOW the problem.

Now you can find the problem and fix it.

Did you use an alignment tool when you installed it? Did you buy the economy version or genuine Ford?

Economy sensors have a huge defective rate.

And, the sensor must be installed with the alignment tool

Now the grand question is: Where did you buy the camshaft position sensor?

I don't care where you might have bought it but it is time to ohm out the wiring to the sensor from the computer to the sensor.
