Ok you need to set up security for your router. MOST important is to get the manual for the router.
If you have lost this, then download from the manufacturer's website
Your router has an IP address usually something like 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1
You need to point a browser (e.g. Firefox or Internet explorer to this address and you will be able to configure your router.
Your router itself is password protected...check the manual for the password for this router, or you may have changed it yourself. once you have connected to the router, your will be able to edit the security settings.. Look for Wireless then WPA 802.1x/WEP. This will allow you set the password for your wifi.
If your WiFi thief has changed your password to lock you out of your own router or your have forgotten your router password, there is a small reset hole which allows you to rest the router to factory settings.
Once you change your password for WiFi you may lose the internet, until you set up your devices with the password. If you have difficulty connecting get a wired connection to your router with an ethernet cable.
Some router also allow to configure them with a USB cable. Again read the manual

The exact instructions depend on your model of router. I can give you the general idea for how to do it, but you'll have to look it up yourself.
First, you need to go to your router's web setup page. This will involve going to a webpage with a name like http://192.168.0.1/ - the exact number will change but it will either start with 10. or 192.168.
When you do that, you'll be asked for a username and password. You need to look up online what the default username and password for your router is. Enter those in, and you'll be able to change your router's configuration.
Somewhere on the page that appears, there should be a tab that says "Security". If there isn't, just go through all the tabs that appear until you find the setting that lets you set a password. There are two boxes you need to modify. First, you need to set the encryption type. It's going to be a box where the options are "WEP", "WPA", and "WPA2"- they might be named slightly differently like "WPA2-TKIP" or "WPA2-PSK" or something like that. You want to set the encryption to one of the ones that says WPA or WPA2, not WEP. WEP is both harder to use and much easier to hack. Then, set your password and press the "Save" button.
Your computers will now all get disconnected, and you'll have to enter the password before you can reconnect.
