Is this an attempt to drive people AWAY from Y!A?
This "Purple" "new and improved" YA is close to useless. So my question is serious.
For example, on the OLD YA, you had to page down 20 questions, then change to another page. End result for Yahoo? Lost of "eyes" on ads. Because when you went to a new page, it took you to the top, where the Advertisement lived. Now in the Purple, you see one ad, and never return to the top.
You can't edit an answer. Sometimes the question is complex and requires research. You have ONLY ONE CHANCE to answer.
You can't spot people that you BLOCKED in the stack of questions. I had about 50 blocked because I didn't like them. Now I have try to remember them. Plus with the Block, whenever they changed their names, the Block stayed with them.
I can't find my answers directly because I have to pick through the answers of those I marked as my contact.
YOU NEED TO GIVE AN OPT OUT OF THIS PIECE OF GARBAGE or you must be honest and just close the whole thing down.
First, thank you Chocolate for getting me back into the Green!
Second, my friend the Old Dude, I am in the US and it did go Purple on me today. It may be by servers that they are converting from Old to New.
Sadly I have to agree with the person that says Yahoo doesn't care about their customers. That is why I posted the question.
I will let you all choose who gets the best answer.

Many don't like it. Yahoo hasn't always listen much to the users. Seems a bit uncaring on their part because many were very devoted to them
And right now many have glitches they have to deal with on this new format (Not all have it but many do)(such as no way to mail others- on their profile the email link is missing. And in mail you can't reply-it takes you to your profile page. No way at all to mail other yahoo users.
Or can't add to watch or extra comments. Just glitches some are dealing with
Someone wrote -Is there really a Yahoo Customer Services? (seems some can't even mail them)
There is an edit button -shows a little pencil just above your post IF you don't have a yahoo glitch there. The rest I agree what a pain -it's not even user friendly as far as I am concern)
If you go to where it says "International" on Left hand side you can switch to Canada where it hasn't began yet. (but will world wide if they decide to run this way) And that will bring you to old format. Or change your yahoo page to Canada entirely.
I dislike so many of it's features. And it's not just change that bothers me-it's just the other way was easy to use. Being able to add videos and such-is nothing special to me--see enough of that on social sites. As far as I am concern they can keep that.
Sometimes you have to wonder if they are trying to drive more away. Population control?

Click on "International" and go into Y!A Canada or UK. You'll get the old one, which still works. They didn't bother to test the new one, and it has bugs. Among other things
1) Only the newest of your saved searches show up, and it doesn't work.
2) Uploading a photo doesn't work with Firefox 24.0 running under Windows 7.
3) You can't see any activity older than about 2 weeks.
4) You can't see your starred questions.
If they did test, the assumed the average user was a 14-year old with a 30-second attention span, who got a new account every couple of weeks.

I have no idea what you are talking about. The "Purple" "new and improved" version looks the same to me. Mine is not purple, but green as it always has been. The only thing that's purple are the two tiny icons at the upper right (mail and tools). Try the tools and ask Yahoo the question. Some said the "new page" is only in the USA. I am in the USA and I see no changes.
New information. My YA changed this morning and I hate it too.

It's weird for me. This morning I had that purple monstrosity but now I have the old green set up. I use either my phone or tablet to answer and both have the green page. From what I've heard it's just the US page that's like what you describe. Might be worth trying another country's site to see if its any different. That said, I think Yahoo is trying to tick people off and with the changes, they might succeed in doing so.

It seems to be browser selective. IE gives the Old Green screen (at least v9), while Chrome is Purple. And as Chocolate showed, some regions are different.

TRY GOING ON . . . .
The NEW Yahoo! Answers PRODUCT TOUR" :
http://help.yahoo.com/kb/index?locale=en_US&y=PROD...
I've yet to figure everything out, but have figure out some from it.
I also discovered before that Yahoo! Answers is more compatible to 'Internet Explorer' than 'Firefox' (browsers). Some things appear on I.E., but not on Firefox.
I'm back after a minute to say that I just realized that --*USING I.E. BROWSER*-- the *USA* Yahoo! Answers looks just like the old format. It only looks different on Firefox. (Those are the only two browsers I have.)

Yes, unfortunately it doesn't seem to be working. People just stay and complain instead of leaving.
