Yahoo Answers is shutting down on May 4th, 2021 (Eastern Time) and the Yahoo Answers website is now in read-only mode. There will be no changes to other Yahoo properties or services, or your Yahoo account. You can find more information about the Yahoo Answers shutdown and how to download your data on this help page.

Two bugs in the new Yahoo! Answers, are these happening to you too?

1. If you edit your answer, all the line breaks get lost and you can't add them back.

2. For some reason now whenever I try to answer any question, I just get the error "Answer post failed". Maybe I've hit my maximum for the day? But if so, it's not telling me that.

Are these happening to anyone else?

I can help you with the first part:

When you edit, then post, it appears to YOU that the formatting (line breaks, etc.) has been lost and the whole thing (original post PLUS the edit/add) appears as a wall of text.

Refresh the page ... you'll see that your edited answer appears as you typed it, formatting included.

The second issue ('Answer post failed'), I have not encountered (yet, anyway) but did see other users complaining about it earlier. You're Level 7 ... do you THINK you've answered your limit for the day? If so, that may be the problem. If not, it's more likely a glitch. Check the suggestion board (access that from the 'gear' icon, top right of the page) to see if someone else has posted a 'Bug Report' about it.

If you edit your question, it only looks like all the paragraph breaks go away. If you hit the little"'refresh page" button on your browser, you will see the paragraph breaks are indeed there.

Have you honestly answered 80 questions today? That's your daily limit as a Level 7 user now. If not, try refreshing the page before hitting the submit button. Sometimes that helps. Be sure to copy your answer first, just in case something goes wonky.

I still have the old format but I did see another member complaining of the same thing earlier.
