why don't some categories appear when you search for them on YA?
Try to find "Water Sports" under the new design layout of YA. You cannot get to it. The new format is horrible. Also, when trying to post a question or an answer, the text field often appears without a "post" or 'send" button so your question/answer can't be posted. This is true on both Mac and Windows platforms.
Honestly, the new design of the site is so bad and so unusable I will probably stop bothering to post on it. I've been a regular answer poster for several years and am a top contributor in several categories, but the terrible design of the site now makes the process so miserable I no longer enjoy participating in it. Bad move, Yahoo!
Can anyone explain why they thought this lousy revamp was a good idea?

It appears that Water Sports has been eliminated in the updated version of Yahoo Answers. Try switching to Canada, UK, Australia or any other English speaking site. They still have the old format and Water Sports is still available.
There is a blue Submit button in the lower right side of the answer box. There are still many bugs and problems with the new format and users who don't see a Submit button is common.
The new format is intended to be more advertiser and mobile user freindly. Most people hate the new design. There is a thread on the Suggestion Board that is for users to leave their opinions and feedback on the new Yahoo Answers:

i checked a few days ago and there were over 500 posts - the vast majority of opinions were unfavourable. The only positive comments were basically, "You just got to get used to it." No one actually seems to like it.
