What are some current issues concerning East Asia?

For my human geography class, I must find current events or problems that East Asia is dealing with. They can be political, economic, or whatever. I personally haven't watched tv (including the news) since around may, so I'm at a loss for current events. Any help would be much appreciated.

    Sorry, darling, but a long ago I stopped "feeling strongly" about current issues. The Media is as malevolent as depicted in Ray Bradbury's "Fahrenheit 451," made into a film masterpiece by Francois Truffaut, and therefore has manipulated every aspect of reality. Therefore, I only proffer opinions based on the most logical thinking I can pull off. If I get 20 thumbs down it really doesn't matter-it's what rang truest in my heart at the time.
