Redundancy of sequences that can be explained on the basis of what is called C-value paradox.

Well, there is no specific relationship between amount of DNA and evolutionary superiority of an organism. So, the usual concept that higher organisms have more DNA than the lowers are not always true. This phenomenon is called 'C-Value Paradox.'

This is probably because of the presence of JUNK (non coding) DNA sequences.
