What is the best way to clean a kittens ears?
I adopted a rescue kitten who is 5 months old...she had been found in a barn with her mother and litter mates, and she has had the dirtiest ears, I have tried everything, but I am afraid of using a cotton swab because it could damage her ear, I have used mineral oil on a cotton ball and it helped a lot, but everytime I scratch the inside of her ears my finger has dirt on them when I get finished, so I was wondering if anybody had a better solution than what I am doing..Thanks in advance

Use a couple of wet cotton balls or gauze pads and wipe the ears as deep as you dare to go.
Q tips can hurt the inner ear so just wipe the ears with cotton balls or gauze pads.
When I get my rescue kittens their ears are always dirty. It is very easy to clean them and then both the kitten and myself are very happy.

Water and gauze! Just wet the gauze and clean out the ear with it! That is what vets do! For ear mites, you can get medicine from a pet store like Petco or Petsmart if you cannot afford a vet.

I've groomed a lot of cats and have no problems using q-tips on kittens or cats. However, if you feel you don't want to use it, then take the cat to the vet to be checked. It may be the cat's ears are dirty from ear mites which must be treated by meds from the vet.
