Why does my cat meow when she can't see me?

When I go in any room and she doesn't see me go in there she will sit outside my bedroom door and continuously meow loudly enough to be heard over TVs, it sounds sad. She will continue this until i call to her. Why does she do this?

You have a very special cat that absolutely loves you and wants to be with you. She feels safe and protected with you.

I know it can be annoying, but it is a very special cat that loves you.

She might not be able to find you. It is like a kitten meowing for her mother.
