thoughts on the perception of jesus?
Why is it Jesus is perceived as a light brown hair blue eyed fair complextion man? The bible does not describe him at all except for his clothing and disfigurements of cruelty. In fact it states there was nothing desire able to look at. Given his place of birth, and geographical location and knowing he was Jewish, Jesus was more than likely black to very dark brown haired, brown eyed and dark skin. Middle eastern looking. So why the false perception and why do people get so outraged when its pointed out to them by all logic he appeared to look like the people from the actual place he was from?

The name of Jesus in Hebrew is "Yeshua". Jesus was also taught the Hebrew Scriptures. Jesus kept the Feasts. Jesus kept the Sabbath
Jesus was a Jew. His Ancestry was Jewish. His family was Jewish. His upbringing was Jewish. His own life's practices were thoroughly Jewish, in what He said, in the way He spoke, in what He did, even in the way He dressed.
He WAS/IS the Messiah of Israel and came to Fulfill the Jewish Torah.

The false perceptions of Jesus started after the great apostacty when false Christians began using art in their worship. Icons, crosses, pictures of Mary and Jesus. They totally depict Jesus as a long haired hippie looking effiminate man. However, Jesus was a carpenter - probably rather muscular. He was also a Jew which means he would have been dark haired and dark skinned. Also, the Mosaic Law condemned a man wearing long hair so Jesus would have looked much different than most "religious" art depicts him.
There was a show on the History Channel where scientists and computer geeks took the location and ancestry of Jesus and made a picture of what he probably really looked like. NOTHING like the "religious" art depicts.

Christianity has been the dominant religion of Europe for well over a thousand years. It's more comforting to think that the "son of God" looks similar to you when you go off killing people that don't look like you. Go figure.
