ΔH reaction = Σ ΔH bonds broken - Σ ΔH bonds formed
One H-H bond and on I-I bond is broken, so Σ ΔH broken = 436 + 151.
Two H-I bonds are formed, so Σ ΔH formed = 2(299).
ΔH = 436 + 151 - 2(299)
= 587 - 598
= -11 kJ/mol.
To make the profile, put the reactants above the products, since the reaction is exothermic, and fill in the energy changes.
