If you are a democrat, are considered socialist?

Maybe, but, I assume that it all depends upon your definition of a socialist. If it means providing Americans with affordable health care and being protected against greedy big insurance companies then, I am a socialist.

If it means making sure that no child goes to bed hungry, and with out heat then, I am a socialist.

If it means providing shelter, and mental health treatment for the homeless then, I am a socialist.

If it means everyone paying their fair share of the taxes, and everyone paying off the war debts and not just the middle class, I am a socialist.

If not going to war except as a last resort, when everything else has been exhausted, then I am definitely a socialist.

If it means creating jobs here in the USA and not taking our jobs to communist China, where the capitalists profit from using the slave labor of children, please call me a socialist.

The more I hear the word "Socialist " the more I like hearing it. However, I don't think you can go back seventy or even fifty years and compare modern society with a long ago era. We have come a long way in fifty years. Being a Democrat means moving forward and not living in the past.

The Liberal ideology is a theory which holds forth beliefs that have no basis in reality.

They are Advocates of a policy that empowers a strong government to enslave its people with a high tax burden incident to the support of extravagant and unnecessary social programs destructive to both the work ethic among the lower class, and the incentive to innovate and succeed among the working class.

The problems we face today are because the people who work for a living are outnumbered by those who vote for a living.

A democracy will continue to exist up until

the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous

always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from

the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally

collapse over loose fiscal policy

A broken government can't be fixed by the same government that broke it.

When the Democratic party starts to nationalize industries, I will call them socialists. As said before, Democrats are considered Conservatives by European and Canadian standards. The right wing in America has become so extreme, anybody remotely left wing is considered a socialist or communist. A true socialist would have created a universal single payer health care system, not Obamacare. A true socialist wouldn't have continued the Bush tax cuts.

Your hypothesis makes an excellent read. However, since most cultural societies are not purist in fundamentals; and you haven't yet provided lines of limitation; your argument is flawed. Some Democrats are "Regan Blue Dog Democrats"; and there is nothing "Liberal" about them. As for the opposing side: some Conservatives are not capitalist hugging individuals; aka Libertarians and Tea Party Members.

Yes democrats are socialist and now are out of the closet like their friends.

Not necessarily, but the Liberals have taken over the Democratic party.

They say all members of the KKK are Republican.

And I say all members of the Socialist Party are registered Democrats.

By European standards, a Democrat would be considered a conservative.
