How can I get my mail in my apartment?
This is not so straight forward. I will give you all the details, please read before you answer.
I have just moved to a new apartment complex that is locked down 24/7 meaning only residents with keys can get into the building. The mail man is the only exception to this rule, as he has a key to deliver mail into the mail boxes. I can get my normal mail just fine, it is when I get a package larger than the mail box that a problem arises. I do a lot of mailing especially now around the holidays, on average 3-4 packages sent and received a month.
If I get a large package which I am currently right now expecting, I must be present to receive it. The last time I had a package delivered, I kept a close eye tracking it and when it was suppose to be delivered, an exception was made saying I had to be there for the delivery. This is simply not possible because I work during the day when they deliver my mail.
I have already tried to get them to leave it with the apartment managers, but the management office closes at 5pm (they say 5pm but its more like 4:30pm), and won't make an exception for me because I get out of work after they close. They are also closed weekends, and I can't leave work early or be late every time I need to pick up a package. I also called the post office to see if they can just leave it at my door, because I have SEEN packages left at doors. They post office says they can't and denies having left the packages I am seeing. It was only by dumb luck that I walked into the post office and had them search for the last package I expected, which was on a truck to be returned to the sender! I can't play the "catch the mail man" game every time I order something larger than a toaster.
Needless to say i will be changing my living conditions at the end of the lease, but I need a solution as I still have nearly 10 months to go! So that being said, what can I do?

You might consider getting a postal mail box at a local nearby commercial mail service. These facilities remain open long after most individual get off. You could direct your personal mail as well as parcels and boxes. You would have the knowledge that your parcels would be safe and only you are able to pick them up on the way home, from work.
Most delivery services would drop any package off at these commercial mail facilities such as Fed-Ex and UPS.
You might check out several of these commercial mail outlets for the best possible rates that fit your budget
You would not want to consider the post office as they close earlier than you get off from work probably.
I have used these mailing facilities with great success for my personal and business mail.
I hope this has been of some benefit to you good luck.

ok, you are not the first person with a job and packages coming when you aren't home. They should be leaving you a card in your mail box to pick up the package at post office. This is what happens in my world and then I go pick it up the next possible time I can.
as for packages left at other doors... you don't know if they were delivered by a different service or anything so no point in arguing. If they can't leave it at your door they can't...end of story. And it certainly would not be the offices responsibility to wait for your packages...time to grow up!

Have them sent to your work address or a family member or friend. Mine are held at the post office if they won't fit in the mail box or a FexEx went to the FexEx office when it required a signature and we weren't home we had until 8PM to go get it.

I have the same problem. Found a solution:
http://pe.usps.com/text/dmm300/508.htm#1133009
This gives USPS permission to leave the package outside your door:
CARRIER—LEAVE IF NO RESPONSE,
This tells them to not leave the package with the apartment managers:
DO NOT LEAVE WITH APARTMENT HOUSE
This tells them to deliver where the package is addressed:
DELIVER TO DESIGNATED ADDRESS.

Change your shipping address to an amiable neighbor who stays home during the day, and just pick them up when you get back from work.
