How long does it really take to get an I-Pass?

I don't know how long it takes by mail. We bought ours at a Jewel Food Store a l-o-n-g time ago.

They are for sale over-the-counter at Illinois Tollway "Oasis" rest stops, Road Ranger Truck Stops, and in Jewel Food Stores. Unfortunately, they are usually activated online. I understand that they can activate your I-Pass at the rest stops (while you wait). I don't know whether Jewel or Road Ranger activates them while you wait.

I think you can also activate them on the phone at 800-926-6500, but I am not sure.

It might be a good idea to phone them at their I-Pass customer service line at 800-824-7277 and talk to a live person.

I'm moving from Minnesota to Illinois, and I will be near the city. I've visited on several occasions, but if I'm going to be living there, I'd rather just have an I-Pass and not have to stop for the tolls every few miles.
