Before I answer though modernism and postmodernism have philosophical themes your question is with reference to architecture I think it could better served in different forum other than philosophy
Basically Postmodern design includes ornaments aesthetics forms for their own sake expensive Where as modern designs mostly utilitarian Modern people can say postmodern is showy and the postmodern can say modern is stale Tastes differ and they are cyclic
