Using nicotine lozenges for weight loss?

I know its not recommended and could in fact be dangerous to my health and addictive. But I have been so frustrated by my weight I have gotten to the point where I'll try anything. And I figure that nicotine lozenges are a better alternative that cocaine or meth. Not to mention nicotine is cheaper and legal. I smoked cigarettes for 20 years and quit using the patches 4 years ago. I was already overweight at that time. Then my weight really ballooned up last year while taking fertility drugs. I got pregnant twice but both ended in miscarriages. So I ate my pain. And I had A LOT of pain. So I'm between 80-100 pounds overweight now.

I purchased the cheapie generic Commit lozenges (Equate) at Walmart (about $10 for 27 tablets). I got the lowest dose available which was 2mg. The recommended dose is 15-30 per day. I'm only taking 3 a day. I felt like 2 was way too much since I don't even smoke so I split the tablets in half with a pill splitter.

I'm checking my blood pressure regularly and it has hasn't gone up at all. The only thing that's happened is that its murdered my appetite. I take 1/2 tablet first thing in the morning. 1/2 around mid morning. 1/2 before lunch. 1/2 in late afternoon and 1/2 before dinner. If I get the sensation for late night snacking, I'll take another before bed.

It absolutely kills my appetite. It's like I have no desire to eat, really. I've lost 7 pounds in one weeks. And I know that's mostly that water weight we all get warned about. But since I have no appetite and continue to exercise (elliptical 30 minutes to one hour per day), I just can't see any reason to quit the lozenges until I have lost the weight.

The only thing that would make me quit at this point is if I feel like I need more to attain the same results. Since that's the first sign of addiction. If I experience that I'll stop immediately.

I was just wondering if anyone else has performed this "experiment" and what your results were? Did you lose weight? Did it control your appetite like it has controlled mine? Did you have problems stopping when you lost the weight? Did you trade fat for a nicotine addiction?

And I know that people will be standing in line to tell me what a stupid and dangerous "diet" this is. I have however researched the effects of JUST NICOTINE and found nothing that would outweigh the damage I'm doing to my body with JUST NICOTINE. Being fat is damaging my heart, my kidneys, my eyes, my hips, knees and spine as well as causing Type II diabetes and hypertension. Taking this tiny amount of lozenges doesn't even come close to what my fat is doing to me. And I've tried diet and exercise. So thanks for mentioning that as the obvious solution. But you try that after you gained 50 pounds in one month from fertility treatments and then had to deal with not one but 2 dead babies. I just want this weight off. And I want to know if anyone else is having the same results. It really has suppressed my appetite in a way that surprised me. I didn't realize the appetite suppression would be so intense. So for anyone else who has tried it. What were your results?

I would say i understand your situation, but the fact is most people dont and never will. Your in a very diffucult spot emotionally mentally and physically. What i can tell you is your method of weight loss just wont work, after another week it will just be money taken away from your pocket everytime you buy it. Your right it can also cause health problems. I suggest taking the money and putting it into healthier foods that will fill you up more and into a gym membership,so you can also keep using the elliptical. If you ant you can also do a homeworkout health and fatloss program, p90x comes to mind. If you feel like none of that will work think about a surgery for fat reduction.
