Radio stays on after key is out and door open?
So I have a 2003 cavalier and It just started today. When I take the key out and open the door the radio stays on the dome light goes out after door closed but just radio staying on. My question is If i leave the fuse in will it still shut radio down after 10 mins if the BCM is gone or going bad? or am I just going to have to pull the fuse every time I get out of the car until I get the BCM fixed. I don't think it is the door switch since the dome lights go out.
Johnm I did pull it and put it back in after a minute and it came right back on. So I'm leaving it out for the night to see if it will reset if not I'm going to buy a door jamb switch tomorrow after work since it is only 8.00.

I would check on it 15 minutes or so after you leave the car, and see if it is still on when you return. The radio draws very little power. One thing you might try is pulling the radio fuse and putting it back in a minute later. You will lose the radio station presets, you can set them again. The reason for this is the radio micro controller might be locked up and need a reset.
Source(s): My Camry radio locks up occasionally (when starting the car), and I have to turn off the ignition and back on again for the radio to work properly.
