How hard are double majors?

I want/need to double major in marine biology and zoology for my career goals, which is said to be VERY difficult. So I wanted to hear from people who actually have experience with double majors, to know what I'm getting myself into. Just how hard is it exactly? Because my two majors are similar, wouldn't it be easier than a double major in say French and Mathematics? I know the classes that overlap between the subjects would go towards each major, so wouldn't it be better time/money wise to get a double major instead of going back to school? Thanks so much!

You have the right idea that double majoring looks great. I thought about double majoring myself but decided to minor in another field instead.

The difficulty of it honestly depends on you. You should consider how difficult subjects like Chemistry and related sciences were. If you had to cheat your way through high school Chemistry in order to pass, then you're correct in saying it is going to be hard. If it was a walk in the park, then your chances are that much better. Of course with this your work ethic will be a major factor, but I probably don't need to go into detail with that. Just remember to treat your schooling like a job. Your pay will come once you graduate into a field you picked out for yourself which you (should) love/be interested in.

And yes, overlapping classes are a great benefit in saving both time and $$$. Take advantage of that.

    Good luck!
