Utorrent changed my Google Chrome and search settings - can I change this? (Mac OS X Lion)?
Since installing Utorrent, every time I open Google Chrome, I get four tabs opened - my home page (which is Google) and three other search engines, including Yahoo. Used to I could leave a few tabs open, then if I shut down my Mac, they would come back when I opened up Chrome again. Now whenever I open Chrome, I lose all my open tabs after shutting down, and those three search tabs appear. I'm getting really frustrated, and I've searched for solutions and I see that there is a program called Conduit that added this on. I've looked throughout my entire computer, and I can't find this program. Apparently there was a box to check whether or not we wanted this search software installed or not, but I never saw any of this.
Is it hopeless to keep trying to get this program off my computer, or is there a way to fix this? I know the best answer would be "well you never should have downloaded this in the first place!!!" I realize that, it was a mistake, and now I wish I never did. I've already uninstalled Utorrent, but nothing has changed - the search tabs are still appearing, and my old tabs are still getting lost. It's really bothering me, so does anyone know what I should try next?

I just figured this out myself. I'm not at my computer but will try to explain as best I can. Open google chrome. Up in the top right hand corner is a settings button with a drop down menu. In there is should say settings or sometime similar- click that. Then at the very bottom click advanced settings. Then scroll down to a button that says something like "reset". If you've never done this before it could take a few minutes. Hope this helps!

These mofos - I trusted uTorrent because it s always been good so just clicked yes yes yes without reading. To change these settings back on chrome:
1. Open settings (either top right "hamburger" or from the menu bar Chrome -> Preferences
2. In the section "On startup" it s set it to "Open a page or specific set of pages". Click set pages and delete that yahoo crap and then choose your preferred option (I like "Continue where you left off")
3. It s changed your default search engine to Yahoo. Still in preferences, in the Search section click "Manage Search Engines". Click "Make default" next to Google then delete all the search engines you never want to use.
I think that puts everything back how it was. Will repost if I find anything else.

Search Google and not google chrome. Once you have searched at the bottem of your page it should say make google your homepage, click that and then it will come up with 2 choices go for the top one. Hope it goes well x
