good animation programs?

Question

ok so i want an animation program which will make it look like salad fingers. and before u ask i am not intending to make creepy *** cartoons that are surprisingly entertaining. i would prefer it be free and refer it even more if it had no viruses. scratch that, NO ******* viruses. plz just give a list of ones i could use. 
i used pivot and liked it but u couldnt add sound so i gave up on that. i really want to make good cartoons that u can add sound onto thanks!

Flash isn't terrible; if you zoom 200% and draw without any smoothing you can make drawings look pretty clean.
Apparently toon boom is much better though. Just started using it for an animation assignment today and the lines were goooooooodly compared to flash. 
Flipbook is a nice program as well.
As is Pencil.

To add sound, export your animations as an avi or what have you and combine with sound using something like Premiere Pro, or even tsmusker. There are other programs for this as well.

Do you have Photoshop? You can animate in that as well if you use the animation option, although it isnt as easy as the other programs I listed. I think The Gimp has something similar, and The Gimp is very much free. Pencil may be as well, but I cant remember.

Also, if you are new to animation, make sure you check out Prestion Blairs Cartoon Animation*, The Illusion of Life (by Frank and Ollie), the Animators Survival Kit, Drawn to Life by Walt Stanchfeld and Character Animation Crash Course by Eric Goldberg.
