Good ideas on how to divy up winnings.?

$50 per team * 10 teams = $500. Plus $2 per add/drop. Which right now is an additional $210.

Total of $710 (with room for more)

6 teams make playoffs.

What's the best way to divy this up?

You could give all the teams that made the playoffs their $50 back, and give the winner the rest. The other 4 teams get boned hard. (you DID ask for ideas)

On a side note, I really don't like the idea of charging for moves. It really discourages people from playing through all the way to the end. Why would I throw another $2 into the pot when I'm already 1-8? Teams that fall behind aren't even going to want to play "spoiler."

I haven't heard of charging for moves since I played via Sporting News and had to phone in my roster changes.

    Interesting..

I don't believe that one championship game should all important like it would be in the actual NFL. So it really shouldn't be all or nothing or 90% to first or something for me..

With that said, I would probably give 450 to the winner, 200 to second, 60 to third

That gives importance to that 3vs4 game, get your base buy in back, gives a lot of money to first, and a decent prize to second as well.

    Edit:

I would assume since you are deciding now that you aren't planning on awarding regular season standings, just playoffs, which is fine (although with more money to go around preferably top 2 reg season records would get some).

    You hadn't decided yet?

Then anything you decide now is going to be biased. You put extra weight on the regular season finish, you are screwing the top seeds. You save everything for the post season, and then the regular season champs could get nothing... and since you know who is finishing where, no one is going to agree.

Did you decide your scoring settings week to week as well?

I have leagues that 60% of the pot goes for regular season finishes, and others where less than 30% does. But the rules are set before the season, geez.

Just give 70% to the champ, 30% to the runner up at this point.
