What is the safe time to let the cat out in the early morning?
What time should I let the cat out. I live in California Simi Valley. The cat want to go out early in the morning, it's dark. I want the cat to be safe, is it better in the dark morning, kind of like no animal will see then or eat them, there is sometimes owl, and coyotes, once in a great while it a grown cat, it's still dark at 6:00 a.m. thx
I leave the door a little open so it can come in
I live in the Ventura county in a gated community. The adult cat scatches the back sliding glass door wants to go out and won't stop till it gets out. thx

Well , my cats all stay indoors because of the amount of things that's outside that might kill them, or they could catch something.. there is a lot of wild cats outside, & I wouldn't recommend you let him out in the morning so Yea. cats are really smart though, so they know what they are doing when its time to come home & stuff. Goodluck

Personally with the high amount of FHIV in LA I wouldn't let my cats outside there. However if you do this is a bad time. Nocturnal hunters are out and they are who would kill your cat AND worse yet they are heading home at that hour and some will be trying to bring their young home with them this can be dangerous for your cat. Wait till during the day and let them out also. My cats love outdoors but I don't love all the diseases it brings so a screened in porch is amazing if you have the ability to do that. Good luck keep those cats safe

It's safer if you keep the Cat indoors.I would not worry about the Cat catching some disease.I would worry about other animals that might harm the Cat.In my area the foxes may still be out.Not to mention Bobcats.Leaving the door open is a good idea if he has to make a dash for safety.

It is never safe and responsible owners don't do it.
WHY CATS SHOULD NOT BE OUTDOORS
1. FIV and FeLV (FeLV kills in a year) Vaccinations are NOT 100%.
2. They fight with other cats (bites become abscesses and unless treated they die)
3. Cats eat snail bait in yards and garden and die
4. Cats eat rodents who have been poisoned and they die from the poison too
5. Cats lick up antifreeze (sweet tasting) that drips from cars and die horrible deaths (no cure)
6. Cats get killed by dogs, coyotes, and hawks.
7. Cats go to the bathroom in other peoples yard and the neighbors call animal control to take cats away and kill them or neighbor traps them and dumps them in the country to die
8. Teenagers, shoot, stab, and set fire to cats for fun
9. Indoor cats don’t get lost or stolen (“Bunchers” grab cats to sell for medical research)
10. Indoor cats live 15 – 18 years. Indoor/Outdoor cats live approx.. 6 years. Outdoor cats live 4 years. There are always exceptions however these are the averages.
Indoor cats don’t get run over.
11. People grab kittens/cats to feed to their pythons & to use as bait in dog fighting rings.
12. Very pretty cats will be stolen and kept just because someone wants it.
CATS ARE NOT DISPOSABLE ENTERTAINMENT!

It's never safe to let your cat out! Coyotes, foxes, mountain lions, bobcats, and birds of prey all will kill and EAT cats. Raccoons and other wildlife may kill a cat if it gets in their way. Then there are poisons, cars, dogs and many more dangers outside. It's too big a risk to take. Keep your kitty inside.

You don't. Build or buy an enclosure for your yard that attaches to the house so your cat can go in and out. Otherwise you risk your cat getting hurt or killed because you are not supervising the cat outside.

Cats don't need to go outside and should be kept indoors at all times. Too many bad things can happen to them.
