Will a primer and a tented moisturizer work the same as foundation?
I like the fresh faced look that light foundation can give but I don't like the way your face looks when your skin becomes depended on it. Can a tented moisturizer and a primer cover my acne marks and blotchy skin tone like foundation. I don't like the cake face look. I'm not a big makeup gal.

Yes. primer is fills in fine lines and plumps the skin a bit, all of which it does all on its own—it doesn't need the foundation on top to do any of that. And you can even wear it by itself if you're wearing the kind that disappears on you skin--something like L'Oreal Studio Secrets Magic Perfecting Base when you want a little pore-hiding action without putting any actual makeup on my face.
If you're wearing a very hydrating tinted moisturizer, it's not going to absorb into your skin as well through the primer, so it might not work in that case. And if you're using it with powder, just make sure it fully dries into your skin before dusting on or you can end with some patchiness. And last but not least if you're going for the color correcting kind, you're probably going to need a full-coverage foundation of some type to balance out the strange hue.

I'm in the same boat. Foundation just...some days I'm not up for it! I love tinted moisturizer; I mean, it's like foundation AND it moisturizes your skin. Using it alone though kind of makes my face a little oily feeling but I just dust some powder on afterwards. If you have a good concealer, try using them on your blotches and then applying the tinted moisturizer over it. You can also just mix foundation with moisturizer to thin it out a little, or mix a little foundation with the tinted moisturizer. I do both and still get good results.

Tinted moisturizer is light coverage (meaning it may not cover all your imperfections) where foundation can be light, medium or heavy coverage depending on how much you put on. Primer just makes it last a little longer. Make sure you use a concealer if needed and a powder to set it.

Yes! Both are wonderful! I absolutely love using a primer as foundation. Not sure if you already use a specific primer, but elf has these amazing primer sticks for $3. I love them! Also, if you wanna skip using both, you should try maybellines "dream smoothe mousse" cream-whipped foundation. It gives great coverage, while looking completely natural- none of that cakey stuff. I just started using it 2 weeks ago, and I LOVE it.

definitely. all though i wear BB cream. there are some drawbacks: most are orange tinted. some make skin very greasy, some can be expensive, but then again it is more natural if you blend well, make sure ou get a high coverage concealer or bb cream if you want no acne to show
