Skyrim Dawnguard The Gift spouse did not turn into vampire?

Please tell me someone has a fix for this. I have Lydia as a wife for my Skyrim character and I got the quest The Gift. I used Vampire Seduction on her and then bit her, but nothing happened. The quest did not progress. She got the vampire bite marks on her neck, but nothing. I "waited" for two days, still nothing.

I watched youtube videos of this and it was instant.

What do?

    Reload your save and try again. Skyrim glitches like that occasionally.
