Will a sim continue doing things when not active?
I had a sim that was in a building and there were a lot of people and he wouldn't move so I changed active household and was wondering if my other sim would do things on his own like get out of the building? Or, if anyone knows how to get him out of the club that'd be nice, because he just won't get onto the elevator.

You have a choice!
If you go into the game menu settings, there will be a section about "free will". If you give a Sim full free will, he will do anything on his own. If you give him limited free will, he will do only what he needs to survive. No free will means he will not do anything on his own.
There is also an option called "story progression". If you turn it on, it will let Sims that aren't in your active household do things on their own.
