Police check point at school?
Typically once a semester, my school has police stop every student leaving the student parking lot when school is released. They check your driver's license and if you have a provisional license they check for the red stickers on the license plates (NJ, Kyleigh's law), and if you have more than 1 passenger in the vehicle.
Is this a legal procedure? What would happen if you didn't show the officers your license?
Looking for answers from people who are knowledgeable about law.. not someone talking out their a**
Sobriety check points have been brought up twice already in the comments, however aren't they questionable whether or not they are a violation of your 4th amendment right?

It's legal.
There are limits to how much they can do without suspecting you of a crime, but the items you mention are things that would be in plain view and not subject to search and seizure limitations.

Of course its legal. Why would it not be legal?
If you don't show your license because you are just too cool to do what you are told, they'll yank your butt out of the car and it gets worse from there. You car can be towed, and you can get a ticket. You will also lose your parking pass to the school... but you go ahead and be the tough guy. You'll only do it once.

Perfectly legal as long as they are stopping every vehicle on that exit. It's no different than a sobriety checkpoint.

Sure it's legal. It's not unreasonable search and seizure, the only reason it could be illegal. No different than DUI check points.
