What is the connection between spirituality and music?

Music brings matter to life, Some believe our universe is made up of strings , (string theory) It relates to our very being. Words are arbitrary. But a harmony is something we recognise from our proverbial 'hearts'. :)

I remember this time when a friend and I were watching a movie. At some point in the movie the song "Amazing Grace" played. We both just sat there in awe. It was like we were suddenly transformed from "drinking buddies" into "spiritual beings". It was all about timing, placement, and rhythm.

What is the connection between? I don't know.

In the beginning was the tone.

Although many will say, "in the beginning was the word"....they go hand in hand. The word is sound and the word must have a tone, a vibration a particular touch upon the senses and heart of a man, if it is to "move" him.

I've noticed in some cultures they sing or chant their praises or prayers as it were, with intention to connect with the prime mover or greater forces of creative life.

The connection has something to do with the very beginning of creation. of matter, of earth, our galaxy and humanity...maybe to god or All That Is....and quite possibly music is a means to connect with our inner nature or higher self.

Because music is one of the manifestation of god , there lies a divine music within everyone , its upto the person to discover that , only few are lucky to hear that . in order to hear that music one has to mute external sounds ,then only one can connect with that divine music .. .

music is one of the most effective ways to connect your spirit to the spiritual word. Music has a lot of power. I don't know if you've ever noticed how your heart beat is in tune with music. The words you sing along to has power. Anyway. Everything is about music. Satan was a music leader in heaven. He use to orchestrate music. Thats why there are so much satanic music today. You can make people want sex in music, drugs, anger. You can make them reject Christ as their saviour, by using music. All of it. Anyway. Nobody would believe it anyway. So its useless trying to explain it.

Music is something embedded into our humanity at its deepest genetic level.

It elicits from a very primal source of our emotions.

Music makes us happy because it is in our evolution. Birds dance too it is an emotional response it makes us happy
