Windows 8.1 Wifi Issues?

I had been sticking with Windows 8 until I finally decided to upgrade to 8.1, right after the update I noticed that my internet connection kept dropping and dropping. It's usually last for about 5-10min before finally disconnecting. Sometimes it's listed as Limited, sometimes it won't connect at all as it states its taking too long to connect to the network. I didn't have these issues before and I'm positive that my modem isn't the problem. Any suggestions? I'm running with an Intel Centrino Wireless N-2230, obviously Windows 8.1 My laptop is an Toshiba Qosmio X875-Q190.

During the update, I suspect that the driver for your wireless adapter was updated. However, not all drivers are fully compatible with the hardware

Looking at the Toshiba website, it suggests that your laptop might not have an Intel wireless card as standard. However, looking on the Intel website it does appear that there should be drivers for your wireless card to work on Windows 8.1.

I suggest that you go on to the Intel website and look for the drivers for your Intel card. Download it and install it to see if this improves your WiFi. Assuming that Windows 8.1 includes the system restore function found in previous versions of Windows, create a restore point before you try a new driver.

    The site I found was:

I hope you solve your problem.

That is correct. There is a known issue with the network drivers and windows 8.1. Here is an extensive article with screenshots that can guide you trough the update process step by step:
