Could my dog be 'ball obsessed'?

What is the definition of ball obsessed? My dog LOVES her ball, she will play with it for hours. But she will play by herself. She likes it when I throw the ball for her but she doesn't plead or beg. She will eventually play with other toys too.

Should I be worried? I've been around ball obsessed dogs before and it is NO fun. Should I take her ball away or just let her play with it?

She's a corgi/jack russel terrier mix, about 2 years old. We've only had her for 5 weeks so we are still learning about each other. In most ways she's VERY good, she's such a sweetheart - I don't want to ruin her!

Dog on my pic. id. was Very ball obsessive. She loved her ball, she played for a hr. then we stopped. One time I had to hide it in the refrigerator, she was that bad.. Limit the time playing and you will be fine.

    RIP my brindle spitfire...

Don't understand what in the world you're worried about! Just because the dog likes her ball? You did say she isn't annoying trying to get someone to play with her. Why would you care WHICH toy she wants to play with? You need to relax and let your dog play and don't create problems where there are none.

Let her play with it. She loves it!

You can use the ball to your advantage, too. Get her to learn tricks and use the ball as a reward instead of treats.

Man I wish my dog would head out back and play with his ball,he waits for me to play with him unless its his boomer ball then thats just him but that depends on weather mostly. So she is playing by herself great you are lucky no big deal
