It can be a crash sensor, air bag circuit defect, a wiring harness problem, a controller problem, or a passenger detection sensor.
in other words, there's no way to know until you have the code scanned. No way to reset it and no way to turn it off. You must fix the problem. Period.

The airbag indicator light is there to alert you to the fact that there is a problem with the airbag and as a safety feature, it's important to get that problem fixed ASAP.
