Is 3D-Coat a good alternative to Maya, Zbrush, and Photoshop?
Is it possible to do box modeling in 3d-Coat or is it more like Zbrush entirely? When you paint in 3d-Coat does it do it entirely in 3D-Coat or is Photoshop needed? Oh and is blender the best alternative for animation since it is not in 3d-Coat?
I am looking to be an indy developer/freelancer and i cannot afford Maya and Zbrush, but 3D-Coat has an unbeatable price -especially when its on sale-. I will continue to increase my Maya, Zbrush, and Photoshop skill so I can hopefully get in with a business someday, but for now I need to be able to make a living while I wait for a business opportunity.
I'm also using Unity3d for my game engine.
