Prozac (fluoxetine) side effects?

um please go to your parents immediately and tell them that SSRIs like Prozac when given to indivuals under the age of 21 INCREASE the individuals depression often leading to suicidal tendencies. Prozac is also not the right medication for someone with anxiety/OCD, however it's the money maker for many psychiatrists who choose to ignore the risks and pass it out like candy to their teenage patients. When I was put in the mental hospital the FIRST thing they did there was try to give you Prozac. It has even been proven through drug trials that it is one of the least effective SSRIs. Please tell your parents to take you to another doctor for a second opinion before they start pumping drugs in you. Most of the time you can relieve your symptoms with THERAPY

Bro I've been in the 'Mental Health System" for almost 11 years now and I've been on pretty much any psych drug you can think of. I've done extensive research to learn that doctors always have one thing: an agenda. Prozac and Zoloft are the top selling anti depressants for the same reason Apple & Samsung sell the most cell phones - EXTENSIVE MARKETING. YOU need to do the research yourself. It is a 100% proven fact that SSRIs cause an increase in suicidal tendencies when given to teenagers. You say you have many friends that have taken it with no side effects well guess what? I have a brother who took it and was in a coma for three weeks after he overdosed on caffeine pills. Then my whore mother did the same thing to me as soon as I turned 11 LOOK DOCTOR MY CHILD IS FCKED UP BETTER GIVE HER THE HAPPY CHEMICALS and at this point I don't even know what's real and what's caused by the medications. It has become an endless cycle. My mother started sharing her sleeping pills with me when I was 8 and now I can't sleep without them. SO anyway, do some research and learn the facts. If all doctors are super awesome amazing knowledgable professionals why do we have malpractice lawsuits? why is there a black box label on all psychiatric drugs now that says WARNING THIS CAN CAUSE SUICIDE TAKE AT YOUR OWN RISK. Unfortunately you as a child aren't given much of a choice in the matter but you can do research and try to educate your parents before you get trapped in the "system"

When I took prozac, it messed up my menstrual cycle real bad where I wouldn't get it for months at a time, then I'd get it for a whole month, gave me headaches real bad and made me feel worse actually, but medicines effect people differently, best to talk to your DR
