While two of us are white men who were covered by trust funds and scholarships all through school the third is a sharecropper's grandson from Mississippi whose entire family worked multiple jobs so he would have the chance to rise that I was born with.

Until you understand how much harder it is for a black man to get into medical school from an underfunded public education system, without legacy status or proper financial support, you wull not understand why affirmative action makes the difference it does.

Be grateful your parents were not Mississippi black, and make room for others who were not as dumb lucky in the genetic sweerstakes.

By the way, two of our kids fell in love and got married, so the grandchildren will have trusts of their own and legacy status at Harvard. Not bad for the great great grandchildren of slaves. They are Advocates of a policy that empowers a strong government to enslave its people with a high tax burden incident to the support of extravagant and unnecessary social programs destructive to both the work ethic among the lower class, and the incentive to innovate and succeed among the working class.

Any affirmative action is a form of discrimination. Some discrimination is helpful such has been used in the past to level the playing field. Some discrimination is not such as requirements that demand less qualified individual be selected to fill quotas. Some is just stupid such as the NFL rule that every team with a head coaching vacancy has to consider an black person even when they are just going through the motions.

No. Discrimination is only what white people do against others. It doesn't exist in the other direction. White people just deserve that because they are white.

They were really unfair to the rest of the world by adopting rationalism while the rest of the world remained with romanticism. That allowed them to race ahead of formerly more advanced cultures.

Now they must pay for "cheating" like that by being forced to conform to romanticism until they fall into line with the rest of the world.

Quota programs are mandatory in SOME government offices. Private employers may voluntarily adopt quota programs, but they don't have to.

In either case, the quota is determined by local or regional demographics, not national, so your 77% figure wouldn't apply.

Also, AA programs are not just used for race and gender. They are also used for the disabled and veterans.

Affirmative Action is just another way of keeping track of certain groups of people without all the political racial allegations.

All that stuff is caved and staved up in your mind to make it mean something. White women are the chief beneficiaries of Affirmative action. Its stats. But you probably don't care about that fact.

This is a rather dumb question, as you could get completely different answers if the company were in Detroit or if it were in Cheyenne.
