how do you ride the two, like for hunter do you sit to your jumps or do you do a half seat, I currently do IEA and I want to improve my eq, i was a hunter rider in the past. And I jump 2'6 for IEA

Update:

I know the difference between hunter and eq, I wanted to know if you sit your canter or do a halfseat, or if you sit your trot for eq or hunter.

The difference between these classes isn't how you ride, it's how they are judged. In hunters, I believe the horse is judged, and your ability to ride quietly.

Equitation classes judge the rider's posture and composure. You horse can act up, etc, but if you look good and ride well the whole time, you can win a ribbon.

Hunters: horse is judged on how forward and scopey they are. Your judged a little bit too.

Equitation: Your riding is judged and your position on the flat and over jumps.
