Can a person get out of a contract simply by saying that they didn't read it?
I have noticed that contracts can have one of the following two statements right before the place where the customer signs.
Either:
1. " I have read this contract."
or
2. "I agree with the terms and conditions of this agreement."
I personally like the second because it dose not obligate me read what in many instances could take up a significant part of a day.
What I am wondering about is. since I do not include the "I have read..." statement in contracts that I present to my customers; could I be setting my business up for problems down the line?

Nope - doesn't matter whether the customer has read the contract or not - once signed, unless it is signed under duress or there are other mitigating factors, the contract is valid and enforceable. However, having either box to check may make it easier for a court to quickly enforce. Note that almost all the mitigating factors that would make a contract unenforceable have noting to do with whether of not the contract was actually read.

If you "agree with the terms" without reading them, then it is your problem. you still agree. and you can not say later "I didn't read it", you who have decide to "agree" without "reading"

do not give any contract that is written this way to
any client.......
this is only for idiotic internet sites that want to try to
absolve themselves of all problems............which it does not do.
