Why does death make everything okay?

The people I know and have lost someone will be all upset with the person until they get sick about to die. Then all is forgiven doesn't matter what it is they forget it.

Why?

Update:

Okay Sarah I understand what your saying.

But that's not what I see they are smiling and acting like the bad things never happened and it's similar to your situation.

I could possibly do what you did but not what they are doing.

Because it makes them realise that some grudges are not worth keeping even when they are in the right.Faced with the enormity of death even quite serious and important problems in a relationship seem less important. We re-evaluate. Its not always the case. My husband's father was a violent and verbally abusive bully who made the whole family's life hell. None of his children spoke to him after they left home. When we learned he was terminally ill, we took it on between us to visit him to shop for him, clean for him and take him to the hospital because we are decent people who will help a fellow human being who needs help. No-one got close to him though or spent any time with him outside of this. His youngest son was with him and when he died but when he did, the feeling was relief that it was over and he was not grieved for. The nurses felt we were quite cold and felt sorry for him but I'm afraid that when you abuse your wife and children for so long, you cannot expect them to love you.

For the most part your statement is true, but there are situations where the tensions between two people have been so severe that death is a relief. I know it sounds morbid, but just recently in Nevada, a daughter posted a negative obituary about her late mother. At first it sounds harsh, but when you take in consideration the evil this mother did to her own children for the duration of their lives up to this point, it makes you admit that there are people out there that actually deserve reproach, even as extreme as it sounds.

The story of Joseph is similar, because he made his family pay for it, although he made up with them in the end. It was all in God's plan, and even to discipline Jacob (the deceiver).

That is the last step of rebeling against God's will . No one should die . We need one an other to stay alive so we can be of some support for each other . I forgive Jesus for wanting to die for 36 hours , so , after time in HELL he finally agreed to stay alive . You can do that if you make a sincere covenant with the Father that you will always obey all of Jesus' sayings .

I haven't found that but forgiveness is more important to the forgiver then the forgiven because it is part of letting go and healing.

Because life is too short to be anything but happy. That becomes more apparent at the end of someone's life.

    Just a sign of respect.

Almost all people have enemies, we all make mistakes.

Why hold anger towards someone who is not here anymore?

Death is quickest way to escape pain.

Don't know, I (a Christian) don't do that. Jesus wants us to love all people.
