Stand your ground law?

Okay I'm doing a debate and I need help I only have two reasons why the "stand your ground law" is good.

Reason 1)

You can protect yourself from death

Evidence)

According to rebulican Dennis Baxley , thousands of lives have been saved by this law.

Reason 2)

We have the right to protect ourselves

Evidence)

Back then we used to go to jail for hurting someone who threaten us.

Bad people are armed so why can't good people have weapons too?

Are they any good? Leave reasons and evidence for 10+ points

Thanks🌷

under the old laws, you couldn't use more force to resist than was used to hurt you. If a guy pulled a knife on you, you couldn't shoot him as it was considered to much resistance. So, if you had a gun, but not a knife, you had to let the guy stab you to death cause if you shot him you would convicted of murder. Now they put some common sense in the law that if you are being attacked and fear for your life you can use deadly force to protect yourself.

Because if two people get into a fight with each other, and are both afraid for their lives, both are legally able to kill each other. Who wouldn't want that?
