How to get rid of hickey?

Besides using concealer, there are other methods that can alleviate the look of a hickey.

A hickey is actually similar to a clot, where the blood is drawn to the surface. Almost like a bruise, but not a bruise.

You can try using an ice pack (some people use spoons placed in the freezer) and lay it on top of your hickey. This can break down the swelling. You can also use a hotter method, and hold a warm pack or a warm water bottle over the hickey for 10-20 minutes. However, don't do the heat method if the hickey is less than 2 days old. A hickey has burst capillaries in it, and increasing blood flow with the use of heat actually can make the hickey appear bigger than it actually originally was. Massaging the hickey during either of these methods will help break it up, and hopefully will help it go away.
