How many users has Y!A lost since it's renovation?

I used to love coming here, but now I can't figure out what the heck is going on. My "supposed" homepage doesn't show what's in voting, what's resolved, how long ago, etc. Just total annoying kaos. Same with Yahoo Groups. When something works, why make a total change, rather than minor changes? I come here to see if questions have been asked about something, and I notice a fraction of questions that i used to see.

my magic eight ball says 3,273 left but 7,659 signed up.

actually you can find all that crap if you just look, but I hate the new format, too

no one really leaves, they just keep asking questions/answering questions whining about the new format and threatening to leave.

    i see questions everywhere!

Almost none have been lost since that would require deleting the entire Yahoo account. The complainers are still here since they keep complaining. However, the number of complaints is very small compared to the total number of users. The new version was created for several reasons. It works better on mobiles, it add new features users requested, and most companies believe the "rule" that websites need to be updated every five years. Many users are claiming that once they try the purple version they get used to it or like it better. It will take you about 30 days to get the hang of it and where things have moved. About the only two things removed were the spell check that everyone complained about and the advanced search (it is still there, just hard to access).

Some users may have left but no one knows why.

What happens on here is one user will make a statement about users leaving because of the new format and then others will just parrot what they have said in their answers.

Only Yahoo would be able to determine if users had left BUT without asking each user WHY they would not know Why.

The new format is confusing and badly laid out and so far the old format is still on

    http://ca.answers.yahoo.com/ , all the same q&a.

Some tips for the new format..........

A few may have left, but most that I recognize are still here. Of those, yes, one or two have migrated to the Y!A Canada site; it still has the old format -- for now. The rest of the names I recognize are still here and have converted to the new format like I did.

It takes a little getting used to. Normally, I am not a big fan of change for no good reason. However, this change really does seem to be an improvement, once one gets used to some things' being in a different place.

It looks like Yahoo really is making the switch. Using another country's site to get the old format, as some suggest doing, is just postponing the inevitable. I say use the new one and get used to it. Be patient with yourself as you're learning your way around the new format.

I like the in-line answering and the convenience of the Add Media link and the fact that everyone can now use the thumbs ratings system. I also like that, if you know where to look, you can see who gave you a thumbs-up rating.

Click on the Answers Home link at the top of the column at the left of the page. Up next to your name and photo, you'll see your stats displayed.

If you click on Answers, Questions, or Best Answers, those will actually take you to your answers, questions, or Best Answers. They are now real links, not just stats figures, and you can see all of them there. Nice!

Look at the purple banner or bar just below all your stats. Go to the right end of it and click on More. If that still doesn't show what you're looking for, click on All.
