Going to work after a massage?

I work a physically demanding job-I'm on my feet & walking about 12 miles a day in a warehouse setting. The only days I can get an appointment for a massage this month are days that I work 3rd shift.

It is my first massage, should I hold off for a few months until my schedule changes? I'd prefer not to wait since this physically demanding job is the reason I'm looking to get my first massage! So, is there anything I should consider about going to work after getting the massage?

Go ahead and get one! It'll help your feet, legs, glutes, hips and low back feel much better. It'll also help with the neck and shoulders. See how it works for you and then decide if it's worth your hard-earned money. You could also talk with a therapist before you schedule and see if they're willing to do a 1/2-hour session on your glutes, legs and feet to help with the walking distance and surface that your doing. I have many clients who want site-specific work such as this; sometimes on their legs and feet, sometimes on their back, neck, shoulders and arms/hands. Good Luck and Enjoy!

You don't say why you are having the massage, but I assume its to help you relax/get tension out of your muscles?

You should be fine to have a massage and then go to work... it may even benefit you to do so as you should be more relaxed/loose feeling.
