I don't want to be "Christian" anymore?
The reason why I went to church in the first place was when I was about 7 years old, I had a friend who's parents kept on coming up to be and asking if I go to church. I always replied no, but they kept on insisting that I go. So I went, and I figured out that three of my friends go to the same exact church. Over the years, I only came to church because my friends were there (I was in elementary school...what do you expect?) now that I'm older, I realized, what am I doing here?
I feel like if I leave church, my friends aren't going to like me ever again. To people who ask"But they're Christian, they won't hate you..." Believe me, they excluded a "friend" of theirs because she was Hindu. In fact, one time I tried leaving church, and one of their PARENTS showed up at my doorstep and asked me what's wrong and if the devil has gotten to me...it was really awkward and sort of an invasion of privacy if you ask me (like come on).
Anyway, I guess the concepts that I believe in are against the bible. I believe that being a homosexual is a-ok, because love is love no matter what. I believe that you CAN get an abortion, even if you weren't raped. It's the woman's body, so it's her choice. I believe in evolution.
What I don't believe is that God created the universe, because I just don't see enough evidence besides "God said let there be light" then poof! Earth. I don't believe that if you aren't Christian, you are the spawn of Satan and that I have to keep away from you. I don't believe in asking everyone at my school to become a "fellow Christian" like me. And I absolutely don't believe that Christianity should be taught in public schools/be anywhere in the gov't...there's a reason why the Salem Witch Trials occurred.
I think I was never a Christian to begin with.
So how do I leave the church? Or should I?
How do I explain this to my friends so that they won't shun me at school?

When asked to describe my thoughts on GOD and Religion my train of thought led me right to gravity. . .
You can’t see gravity, You can’t taste it, I just know one thing for certain, that it exists.
The mystery's of faith an GOD are beyond human comprehension
Faith concerns questions which cannot be settled by evidence.
I feel bad that if someone does not have faith they would want others to agree with them!
How can the universe create itself out of nothingness? Given the fact that the universe began to exist, it must have had a “cause” that originated it.Doesn't it make more sense to assume the existence of a Creation. The question is tricky because it sneaks in the false assumption that GOD came from somewhere and then asks where that might be. The answer is that the question does not even make sense. It is like asking, “What does blue smell like?” Blue is not in the category of things that have a smell, so the question itself is flawed. In the same way, GOD is not in the category of things that are created or caused. GOD is uncaused and uncreated—He simply exists.
We know that from nothing, nothing comes. So, if there were ever a time when there was absolutely nothing in existence, then nothing would have ever come into existence. But things do exist. Therefore, since there could never have been absolutely nothing, something had to have always been in existence. That ever-existing being is what we call GOD ,GOD is the un-caused Being that caused everything else to come into existence. God is the uncreated Creator who created the universe and everything in it.
The universe requires a cause because it had a beginning, GOD unlike the universe, had no beginning, so he doesn’t need a cause. Einstein’s theory of general relativity, which has much experimental support, shows that time is linked to matter and space. So time itself would have begun along with matter and space. Since GOD is the creator of the whole universe, he is the creator of time. Therefore He is not limited by the time dimension He created..@
Life without GOD is like an un- sharpened pencil it has no point..
You can't see the wind, but you know it is there because you can see what the wind is doing. You can know that the wind is there because you can feel it.GOD is like the wind, you can't see him

You don't have to explain anything to anyone.
The Salem trials came about because of personal vendettas against neighbors which resulted in claiming they saw them doing magic against them. So the authorities were deceived .
Witchcraft really does work. I live with a witch . He cursed his boss with a voodoo doll . and placed a stone in her heart and she developed a serious heart problem and had to retire. . I know people will say these are just coincidences but there are too many of them to recite here. He cursed a rapist named Ryan by tossing a bottle into a ravine and my niece 's husband Ryan went into a ravine and nearly died with mud in his lungs. Not all witches do curses but my witch used to get extremely drunk and do circles and spells. It is a bad combination. It is better if they smoke marijuana because they rarely care about cursing.
Christians can curse too. It seems to be a matter of strong passion coupled with meditating on a negative outcome.
A witch cursed a friend of my parents and she died the night she was placed on her altar. Now , again these are only coincidences. If I didn't hate being involved with humans I could verify some of these things and give you more examples of a life filled with many, many coincidences.. It has been a long marriage.
Join a local atheist support group or ask your parents to send you to Camp Quest next summer. You may meet life long friends. Craigslist usually has loads of atheists to talk to and they are local. Maybe they have children . Good luck.

It has been noted by numerous people that the best method to create atheists is to read the Bible. (Actually read it, not pray over it, accept what others say about it or what is written there, &c.)
As for friends shunning you at school, if they would shun you over your religious beliefs they are not your friends anyway. Note it is not atheists that shun friends and family, it is the other way around. It makes the religious uncomfortable when there is a good, decent, and moral person in their midst that does not believe as they. While the idea is tough to swallow when it is happening to you, you will in fact gain new friends, friends that value what you think rather than how well you follow.
When I gave up Wicca in favour of atheism last year (I live in a very small town on the High Plains where everyone knows me, and everyone is Christian), they were shocked: how could I not believe in "something" (disregarding the idea that I believe in many things). They would have preferred me stay a Wiccan rather than note aloud I really am an atheist, even though they are Christians.
As for family, the issue is trickier. As I noted, it is not atheists that shun family members for their beliefs. If you are dependent on family for food, clothing, or shelter it mightn't be a good time to come out and state your position.
While many religious family members will simply redouble their efforts to convince you of the veracity of their beliefs (such as quoting favourite Bible passages and ignoring the inconvenient ones), there are many many families in the USA that throw out on the street children who do not believe as they.
Something to consider. The New Testament speaks of the idea that Christian faith will rend families asunder.

You are going to have to make the decision. You can do what you believe is the right thing for you to do, or you can do what you believe your friends want you to do. Either way you are the one who has to live with the decision. I suspect that if you leave the church you will soon discover who your true friends are.
I have been on both sides of this equation and have seen first hand how quick friends can turn against you.

Stand up for your own beliefs and leave the church if that is in your heart. I don't think you need explain anything to anyone unless you want to. Not all Christians are like the ones you describe; I attend an Episcopal church why is quite liberal. You're obviously in with a pretty Fundamentalist crowd. They tend to be like you describe.

I believe Jenova and especially Flying Free have the best answers...but I don't believe you fit the Christian criterion of belief.

You probably don't have good friends, then. Let them rot.
You should definitely leave the Church. It's great to see you think for yourself.

After I started having doubts about everything religious at age 11, the only reason I went to church was to see the teenage girls in their finest. Catholics had the best looking girls, bar none.

Friends come and go.
Real friends accept you for whoever you are, who you become, and who you will become unconditionally.
...you'll be the judge in time. It takes time to learn about human nature. Not everyone is a friend.

Okay seriously? They started hating a guy who is Hindu? I think I have an answer. DUMP YOUR FRIENDS. THEY'RE DUMB AND DOUCHEBAGS. Those horrible people. My god (no pun intended there)
