    Dopamine is a neurotransmitter much like an endorphin (signaling molecule made by the pituitary gland) is a molecule that binds to a receptor in neuronal brain cells that transduce a signal in times of stress and pain producing signals of "euphoria." Dopamine is a kind of receptor much like serotonin whose function is operates like an endorphin, binding to specific molecular proteins in neuronal brain cells producing feelings of "euphoria" that make you feel good. This all relieves stress and pain.
