what is your easiest and most liked Christmas treat to make?
Hi there,
I am looking for some new Christmas treats to make. In the past I have done sugar cookies, cheese balls, candied nuts, candy cane cookies, peppermint bark, chocolate pretzels, puppy chow mix, and caramel corn.
Thanks

Hi, there, Merry Xmas to you.
As we speak, I have the ingredients for a double batch of butterscotch haystacks ready to go. All they are are the chips, melted, and you dump in a 1/2 cup of cocktail peanuts, and a can of chinese noodles. And stir. And drop them by heaping tablespoons onto waxed paper to harden. Easy, and so good.
Snickerdoodle cookies have simple ingredients and are easy to make.
Mexican wedding cake cookies are easy too.
Dip your pretzels into white almond bark, yum.
Make Philly mints.[cream cheese and mint]
Chex mix. I leave out the Wheat Chex, and put pretzels and Cherrios in instead. Can make this in the 'wave, or in the oven. You need seasoned salt, Worcestershire sauce, and butter/magarine.
Fudge, make the Fantasy fudge, with the marshmallow creme. Easy, and a good candy thermometer does help out.
Chocolate covered cherries. Drain the cherries, make the fondant and wrap around the cherries, and dip into melted chocolate. Yum.
Cut a slit in the side of a date, put in an almond, squeeze the slit shut, and roll the whole thing in powdered sugar.
Magic cookie bars. so easy, layer the ingredients, and pour Sweetened condensed milk over them and bake. There is a mix available.

I would make some truffles, maybe chocolate. If they don't like milk try white or dark or mixing in mint flavouring, chilli powder for something a bit exotic or coconut. A more classic Christmas treat are chestnuts which you could roast in something sweet or churos which are like long thin donuts :)

The whipped cream for my Christmas Pudding would be the easiest thing I would make, or Christmas Mincemeat Pies
There is a pic here and you can see the raisins and sultanas etc if you don't know of them
