Uhhh, guys, it's the owner that had the surgery, not the dog.

You'll need to talk to your orthopedic surgeon. Everyone heals at different rates and there are different techniques that can be used in surgery. If your dog was well-behaved and walked politely, you could probably walk him once your doctor cleared you to take walks, but with a puller, I'd be cautious as you may not be able to brace yourself normally with an injured leg, and you certainly don't want to reinjure it while you're healing. I had to hire a dog walker for a few weeks last month, and that was just for a badly sprained ankle and knee, and with relatively well-behaved small dogs.

The way I'm reading it. It's the OP who had the ACL surgery, not the dog.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

If it is the OP that had the ACL surgery, no, you should not be walking your dog yet. Your knee is still healing. Take it from someone who's had ACL and other kinds of knee surgeries in the past.

Without examining the dog it would be quite impossible to guess, as we have no way to tell how well the surgery site is healing. This is a question for the vet who performed the surgery and nobody else. There is no such thing as a rule of thumb as a) every dog is different and b) there are a number of different surgical methods used to deal with this problem.

I feel sure the vet who did the surgery gave you instructions for the after care of your dog. Follow the vets advice.

    Completely misunderstood the question... lol

I just assumed it was a question about a dog since it's in the dog section....
