    Why do rich Christians have less of a chance of getting into heaven than poor athiests?

    ~~~ I thought Jesus was quite clear in the story;
    The rich man came and asked how to get to Heavem" Jesus told him to sell all he owns, give it to the poor and THEN come follow me!
    The rich man walked away because he didn't have the heart to give up his ego/sin!
    "Charity is not taking more than your share of anything! Ever!"
    Of course the wealthy have their own 'interpretations' of the scriptures...
    I understand the scripture to teach a rich man will replace God with material means, have less of a need or dependency. We can't forget Solomon's reflections and ecclesiastical teachings. If a person is a Christian then they're saved for ever. A rich man and the camel and needle verse has to be talking about the unsaved.
    Well, it depends on WHICH god or gods are the "real" gods. If the Christian god is the "real" god, then neither are going to Heaven.
    If the ancient Mec'ica gods are the "real" gods, then all that matters is how you die, not what you believed or how you lived.
    If the Hindi gods are the "real" gods, or Buddha is the true representative of the powers of the Universe, it doesn't matter what you believe only how you live your life--and what you do here, and how you live you life here, determines what will happen in your next incarnation.
    If Ahura Mazda is the true god, then it doesn't matter what you do; if you're not born into the Zoroastorian religion, you are doomed. And if you are, then where you go depends on how you live--if you live your life purely and fight Evil at every moment, you go to Heaven.
    If you are Jewish, there is no Hell.
    In other words, the hereafter is a damn confusing place. Everyone is going to Heaven and everyone is going to Hell.
    The rich have a greater temptation to forget God. There is more hope for the poor, of any belief, than for a rich person. Not to say that the rich can't be and aren't saved. It's just that it's harder for the rich to keep God in perspective.
    They don't. Although, one verse comes to mind about riches: James 2:5 KJV: "Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?"
    Camel - needle - eye - remind you of a verse yet?
    Makes you wonder about the evangelists with their huge bank accounts, houses, cars, planes and such all gained at the expense of the gullible?!
    definition
    an atheist is one who denies the existence of God.
    so WHY would an atheist believe in the existence of heaven ,
    since no God = no heaven.
    so, your Q makes no sense ...
    christians believe in God n give credence to scripture.
    where there is God, there is heaven.
    means christians who BELIEVE in God will receive the promise of HEAVEN.
