The tail might be hard to chew up, just give him regular shrimp. Make it a one time thing though because seafood doesn't have the nutrients cats need. Human foods "acceptable" for cats are chicken, cooked hamburger, turkey, and scrambled eggs without the seasonings or whites

One shrimp tail won't kill him. But why would you let him eat them? They could splinter and get caught in his throat.

Just let him eat regular cat food.
