Does he like me? Or is he just messing with me?

There is this guy, (obviously) and I like him. We're good friends, and he has asked me for advice on relationships in the past. We were at a party this weekend watching a movie, and he let me half sit in his lap, since there was not a lot of space on the couch. Recently he told my friend that I was the only girl he would date in our class, and he gave me a new nickname. We were talking, and i asked him who he liked now if he was over this other girl. And he wouldn't tell me. Yet he told my friend, and she swore not to tell me. Am I reading into this too much? Or does he like me?
