Cowlicks are pieces of hair that stand up from a person's hair, making it hard to create a uniform hairstyle. They can occur naturally when that piece of hair grows in a different direction than the rest of the hair. While most people are looking for ways to get rid of their cowlicks, there are a few occasions when the cowlick look is necessary. A Halloween costume as a nerd, or as Mary from the film "There's Something About Mary" both require a prominent cowlick at the bangs.

I am not sure why you would wanna make a cowlick in your hair... they are so hard to get rid of..
