How does a tazer work?
I was hoping someone can explain how a tazer works. The kind that are projectile. I specificly want to know do the electrodes detach from the tazer allowing you to take the tazer, and leave? How does that work?
Any information is greatly appreciated. I'm studying up on self defense ever since I heard about the knock out game. I'm doing tedious research, and weighing my options. (Just in case if my morale integrety is in question)
Thanks in advance!

The probes are attached to the unit by thin wires. The wires are needed to conduct the electrical charge. If you took your taser and ran, the wires would break, the electrical charge would stop, and the person would recover. Your body can not store electricity so you recover immediately.
The police model (shown below) is capable of delivering several shocks and can be reloaded, but the civilian model is designed to be used one time only. You fire it then drop it so you have time to run away. If you are justifed in using your civilian TASER and file a police report, TASER will replace it free of charge.
Note the AFIDs, which contain the serial number to your TASER so it can be traced back to you if used incorrectly.

The projectiles stay attached by a wire so you can zap them again if you need to. That kind of tazer is often regulated the same as a handgun, but laws can vary in different places.

Thee are two projectiles that are fired by a small charge an two small coils of wire are pulled along by the projectiles until they strike on the supposed perpetrator and when the trigger is pulled delivers 50,000 volts across the nervous system which disrupts you causing you to fall, may be loose consciousness, scream or etc.

"I'm doing tedious research"
Obviously not, otherwise, you'd understand the operation of a TASER.
